About

Hallo and welcome! I am glad to show some pieces of my work to you. I like graphic design a lot: it is a big part of my daily life and it makes me happy. There’s so much great design around us! It challenges me to learn more, to increase and improve my skills. When I am not “on Photoshop” or reading other designer’s blogs and tweets or browsing design magazines, I like to walk in the nature or in the city, sit in a cafeteria, read a nice book, watch a movie or daydream in my favourite chair. I am also very keen on decorating my apartment – and make future decoration plans. In some day I would like start scrapbooking. I love planning and designing. I am punctual and sharp, creative and hardworking.

Education and work

I am recently graduated Media Designer (Bachelor of Arts). I studied communication in North Karelia University of Applied Sciences in years 2005-2010. During that time, I specialized to new media design and in my final thesis I studied social internet as a web designer’s work environment. I increased my knowledge by studying abroad (Shanghai, China 3-5/2007 and Nicosia, Cyprus 10/2007-1/2008) and also doing a part of my traineeship in Mark Bloomfield’s web design agency called Yellow-Llama in South Africa (Port Elizabeth, South Africa 2-4/2009). During my studies I also worked in RT-Tiimi Oy (5/2008-2/2010) where I designed advertisements and announcements for newspaper Karjalainen and served customers on their subcribsion and advertisement matters.

I started doing freelance work in 2009. Since that, I have had a chance to work around different types of projects and meet some interesting people. In future I hope that I will have a chance to work with awesome creative people, continue to improve my skills, get inspired as easily as today and manage to create something totally incredible and wonderful that makes me and others smile and say “wow”.

Software skills

I am very familiar with both PC and MAC. I have a good knowledge in Adobe Photoshop CS3&4, Illustrator CS4 and basic knowledge in InDesign CS4. Macromedia Freehand I also know well. I know the basics of Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver (CS2&4).

When it comes to the code, I know basics of (X)HTML and CSS. I aiming to keep on track of the latest web development by following web developer blogs and sites on the net. In my opinion, when designing content to web, one has to know it’s technical limitations and possibilities. In some levels, I think, that applies to print design as well.
